Where to start

A first session in six steps. Each one links to the page with the full details.

1. Drive to the nearest cabin. There are 43 of them. The first visit clears the fog on the in-game map for 400 m around it, and every visit repairs your vehicle and refills its tool slots. Other places stay hidden until you drive within 200 m. Find cabins on the map.
2. Run challenge trails to grow your garage. 18 of the 23 trails give a new vehicle the first time you finish one. See which trail gives which vehicle.
3. Open crates and take recovery jobs. Cosmetics are not sold by the Mechanic. They come from the 86 crates, the 14 item recovery jobs and some trails. Where each part is.
4. Photograph each animal once. The first photo of each of the 27 species pays pebbles; a second photo pays nothing. When and where they spawn.
5. Spend pebbles on one or two vehicles. The world pays 3,285 pebbles once and a full upgrade set costs 675, so spreading them across every vehicle leaves each one weak. What each upgrade does.
6. Pull meteorites, ideally with friends. They pay 15 to 80 pebbles and keep falling after everything else is collected. The biggest needs 4 winches. How meteorites work.

Good to know

• You start in The Protector, with The Ding and The Trailrat also in the garage. Every other vehicle is the prize for a challenge trail.
• Upgrades belong to one vehicle. A full set costs 675 pebbles, and the whole world pays out 3,285 pebbles once, so choose which vehicles to upgrade. Meteorites are the only pebbles that keep coming.
• Each animal species pays only for its first photo. One good shot per animal is all you need.
• Reaching the Mechanic or a cabin, or respawning at a cabin, repairs your vehicle fully and refills its tool slots.
• Distance liveries unlock every 50 km up to 300 km, counted on each vehicle's own odometer. See them per vehicle.
• Damage under 70% does not change how a vehicle drives. At 100% it still runs, at half its top speed. How damage works.
• Nights in Canada have a 15% chance of northern lights; Algeria has none. Weather in each country.
• The meteorite radar points to the nearest meteorite already on the ground, at any distance. It does not track ones still falling.
• A day lasts about 73 real minutes. Going through an area exit rerolls the time and the weather.
